Louis Tomlinson Releases ‘Palaces,’ a Sunny New Single
After Billboard playfully dubbed him “King Lou” in October — a nod to the Beyoncé-evoking tone of his song “Lemonade” — Louis Tomlinson has followed up with another bright offering: the single “Palaces.”
Released on November 14, 2025, “Palaces” pairs spirited guitars and driving drums with Tomlinson’s soaring vocals. The track finds him singing about retreating from the outside world to share a private, timeless space with someone he loves: “I’m lost in the time, I don’t care for the world outside / You can stay for the night in the palaces of my mind.”
On the day of the single’s release, Tomlinson shared the song on social media, calling it “one of my favourite songs on the record since writing it” and thanking fans for their support while teasing excitement about next year’s plans. (See his post on X.)

“Palaces” arrives ahead of Tomlinson’s forthcoming album How Did I Get Here?, which is scheduled for release on January 23. So far he has previewed two tracks from the twelve-song record: the wistful “Lemonade” and now “Palaces,” each revealing different emotional shades of the new project.
Tomlinson’s last full-length album, Faith in the Future, came out in 2022 and reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200. This upcoming LP will be his first since the loss of his friend and former bandmate Liam Payne, who died in 2024 after an accidental fall in Argentina — a tragedy Tomlinson has said continues to feel raw and difficult to process.
Reflecting on Payne’s death in a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK, Tomlinson admitted that he had misjudged how grief would affect him and acknowledged the ongoing challenge of adapting to such a profound loss.
