LG unveils the world’s first monitor with Thunderbolt 5 support — UltraFine 6K (32U990A)
The monitor features a 32″ display with a Nano IPS Black panel, providing a wide color gamut: 99.5% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3.
The main highlight is the support for the Thunderbolt 5 standard, which appeared in the latest Mac computers with M4 Pro and M4 Max chipsets. Thunderbolt 5 offers data transfer speeds of up to 120 Gbps in Boost mode and power delivery of up to 240W to external devices via the Power Delivery protocol.
The company has yet to reveal all the specifications, including the resolution. For example, the 32-inch 6K Apple Pro Display XDR has a resolution of 6016×3384. Similar specifications are expected in LG’s offering. The refresh rate of the panel also remains undisclosed.
The price has not been announced. It is likely to be lower than the mentioned Pro Display XDR, which starts at $5000.
