Jeff Goldblum announces Jurassic World Evolution 2

At Summer Game Fest on Thursday, actor Jeff Goldblum announced Frontier’s newest game, Jurassic World Evolution 2. The new title is the follow-up to the park-building sim released in 2018, Jurassic World Evolution, and it is slated to be released in 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

The original Jurassic World Evolution is a park simulator like Zoo Tycoon. In it, you have an open sandbox in which you can design and build your very own Jurassic Park zoo, complete with dinosaurs. This new iteration will build on the previous game and give players more options when building their park.

“Together with expanded construction and more customisation options, the result is an even bigger, better and authentic Jurassic World game,” the game’s website said.

Also according to the game’s website, Jurassic World Evolution 2 will introduce a new narrative campaign, new dinosaurs, and other new features. For example, it will include a “chaos theory” mode in which you’ll get to play through key moments of the Jurassic World and Jurassic Park films.

Goldblum had the honor of announcing the release, since he played Dr. Ian Malcolm in the Jurassic Park film canon and also in games like The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. He narrated the Jurassic World Evolution 2 trailer that debuted during the livestream, so it seems possible that Goldblum will appear in the game as well. Or maybe he just did the announcement because, well, who doesn’t love Jeff Goldblum?
