Helldivers 2 CEO Surprised It’s on Xbox, Says Giving Players What They Want Justified the Move

With substantial content available at release and over a year of live-service support, Helldivers 2 appears to be thriving on Xbox.

Jorjani also noted that many new console players have missed some of Helldivers 2’s player-driven moments. While the studio intentionally designs microtransactions to encourage engagement, the game’s major narrative beats still carry much of the story—events shaped by the community’s actions across the galactic conflict that powers the game.

Reflecting on what he called “historic moments in Helldivers history,” Jorjani observed that the incoming Xbox community has missed earlier milestones, but are already creating fresh ones together. He highlighted how veteran players are mentoring newcomers, showing them systems, strategies, and the broader arc of the game’s dramatic, community-driven story.

He recounted older players teaching newer ones about incidents like what occurred at Malevelon Creek: “Someone will sit a rookie down and say, ‘Let me tell you what actually happened.’ Before long, those stories become intensely personal recollections.” Those shared, sometimes painful memories are forging strong connections in Helldivers 2’s growing Xbox community.

Helldivers 2 boss says GTA 6 is “going to blot out the sun in a way that is unimaginable for everyone else,” and its latest delay means “6 more months of uninterrupted work” without Rockstar’s game “looming over us.”
