After four years of regular content drops — including new maps, modes, and gear — Halo Studios confirmed it will roll out the game’s final major update on Nov. 18.
“With multiple Halo titles in development, we’ll need our whole team’s combined focus to deliver new experiences with the same passion and care that our community has given us,” the studio wrote in a blog post previewing the update.
Previously known as 343 Industries, the developer rebranded to Halo Studios in October 2024 and announced a transition from its Slipspace Engine to Epic’s Unreal Engine 5. That shift is aimed at enabling the studio to run several projects in parallel and accelerate delivery of future games and updates. The studio unveiled its first next-generation project, Halo: Campaign Evolved, in October.
The UE5 remake of the original campaign is slated for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, marking the franchise’s debut on PlayStation. Campaign Evolved will focus on cooperative play — supporting four-player online and two-player local co-op — and will not include PvP multiplayer.
The upcoming “Operation: Infinite” update for Halo: Infinite adds eight new armor sets, roughly 200 cosmetic options, and launches a new ranked season. It also brings two new maps: a festive Yuletide Husky raid map and an asymmetrical arena called Vacancy, set in a hotel courtyard.
Halo Studios says it will continue to support Halo: Infinite after this update with periodic ranked seasons — each offering exclusive cosmetics — alongside the game’s ongoing rotation of daily and weekly challenges.
Halo’s 25th anniversary arrives in 2026, culminating in Halo Fest in Seattle from Dec. 11–13, 2026. The celebration will include the first full-length live concert of the series’ score, competitive esports events, a cosplay showcase, and appearances by the franchise’s voice actors. Tickets go on sale Dec. 10, 2026.
