A sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn would have “more machines”. We’re on board.
In an interview with Game Informer (by way of WCCFTech), he topic of sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn was broached with Guerrilla Games, and it sounds promising.
“We’ve been absolutely humbled by the players’ response to the story and their emotional connection to Aloy,” stated narrative director, John Gonzalez. “Should a sequel happen, our number one goal would be to respect that connection by doing our utmost to create a story that resonates just as deeply.”
Game director, Mathijs de Jonge, added, “It’s been a giant venture for us and I’m actually pleased the way it all got here collectively. I see plenty of reward for the variability the world gives and the expertise as an entire.
“That some components don’t shine fairly as brightly as others is one thing that was type of inevitable because of the scope. We are trying intently at any critiques as a part of plotting out our plans for the way forward for Horizon.”
Art director, Jan-Bart van Beek, talked about that he’d wish to see extra extra robosaurs if a sequel was on the playing cards.
“More machines,” he stated. “They are a lot of fun to design, build, animate, and play with. I wish we could have done a hundred. But reality is a harsh mistress; it doesn’t allow you to make hundreds of machines.”
There may additionally be a patch on the horizon for the sport to permit Eloy to equip extra weapons. It seems that the weapon wheel initially had extra slots, “but the controls got in the way with how quick we wanted the switching process to be; it just got too finicky,” defined de Jonge.
“We have some ideas on how we can improve weapon/loadout switching, but I can’t share anything on this yet.”
It seems like a robotic heavy sequel is probably going, and presumably a patch for Horizon Zero Dawn to allow you to equip much more weapons.
