Google Adds Two Years of Updates for Pixel 6, 7, and Fold
Without any announcement, the company changed its update policy on its website, delighting owners of early Pixel models with Tensor processors by providing an additional two years of updates. Unfortunately, this does not yet apply to Pixel Tablets.
So, the update policy now is as follows:
• 7 years of Android and security updates: Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold;
• 5 years of Android and security updates: Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold;
• 3 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates: Pixel Tablet.
