Ghost of Yōtei Adds New Game Plus and More Next Week

New Game Plus Comes to Ghost of Yōtei on November 24

Prepare your blade: Sucker Punch Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a free update that brings New Game Plus to Ghost of Yōtei on November 24. This addition lets players revisit Ezo and continue their vendetta with everything they’ve earned on a prior run.

When you start a New Game Plus run you keep your collected weapons, armor, and abilities, and many gear items gain access to an additional upgrade tier. The update also introduces tougher difficulty settings and two new trophies for completionists.

The patch adds a new cosmetic currency called Ghost Flowers, which you can spend with a fresh vendor to unlock a catalog of vanity items. According to the PlayStation Blog announcement, you can exchange Ghost Flowers for over 30 new cosmetics — including new armor sets and weapon dyes — plus 10 additional charms. The New Game Plus trailer highlights eye-catching sword kits, straw hats, masks, and other visual options. Read the full PlayStation Blog post.

Beyond New Game Plus, the patch unlocks the ability to replay post‑game encounters so you can take down wanted outlaws again without starting over. These replayable challenges will include stat tracking — the blog and trailer demonstrate timers, such as the duration of a duel, though full details about which metrics are logged are limited so far.

Accessibility and photo options receive attention as well: the update introduces directional button remapping and expands Photo Mode with features like shutter-speed control, a composition grid, and new filter options, per the developer notes.

Ghost of Yōtei launched on October 2 for PlayStation 5 and proved commercially successful, selling more than 3 million copies in its first month, according to reporting at the time. The title earned eight nominations at The Game Awards 2025, although Death Stranding 2: On the Beach took one of Sony’s key slots. Critics praised the game — Polygon described it as “the video game equivalent to old Hollywood epics.” For more, see our review and explore the interactive Ghost of Yōtei map.
