And that’s not the only theory to fall away. One popular idea was that the statue-like object could hint at a Diablo IV expansion — but Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier has indicated that’s unlikely. Spotted via a post by GermanStrands on Twitter, Schreier wrote in a ResetEra thread that “this statue is not teasing the Diablo 4 expansion,” adding that while he “currently [doesn’t] plan on reporting what it is,” he believes “it’s a good one.”
So where does that leave us? Fans of The Elder Scrolls 6 might be quietly optimistic — the carved feature could fit the franchise’s aesthetic, and it certainly sounds like a substantial reveal. Fortunately, we may not have to wait long: The Game Awards 2025 are scheduled for December 11 (with some regions seeing the event in the early hours of December 12).
The Elder Scrolls 6 “might” receive an Oblivion-style surprise release if Bethesda and Todd Howard choose to announce and ship simultaneously: “I like to just announce stuff and release it.”
