
All donations from Games Done Queer will benefit Lambda Legal, a U.S. organization that defends the legal rights of LGBTQ+ people—an effort organizers say feels especially urgent given the current climate.
“It’s been pretty rough lately, so we wanted to come together for a meaningful cause while still having fun,” event organizer Rae Brusky told PC Gamer. Brusky added that the weekend is meant to be “a break from all of the awfulness” while also rallying support for LGBTQ+ rights.
Super Mario Bros. speedrunner now sits just 11 frames shy of a theoretically perfect playthrough of the four-decade-old classic, after claiming the world record for the third time this year.
