Fortnite Season 7 is nearly upon us, and, as ever, the battle royale’s map has undergone some significant changes. While Season 6’s terrain tweaks were relatively minor, Season 7 looks to have plenty to offer, largely thanks to the new Iceberg biome.
Servers are currently down, so we don’t know much about the new area just yet. We do, however, already know the names of some new named locations coming to the game later today. Two of them – Frosty Flights and Polar Peak – sound pretty wintery, and are likely to be found in the new biome, which we’re expecting to appear in the south-west corner of the map. Both of those showed up in the Fortnite Season 7 patch notes.
The final new named location is Happy Hamlet. At this point, I have no idea where that might be. There’s a chance that it relates to the adorable Fortnite Season 7 trailer, in which case it’ll likely feature in the new biome as well, but it’s equally likely that it nestles in somewhere else on the map.
To make room for those three new locations, it’s likely that some older ones are rotated out. Current fan theories suggest that Flush Factory will be crushed out of existence by the arrival of the iceberg, but we’ll have to wait until servers come back up later today to check. At least this time, it doesn’t look like Tilted Towers is in any particular danger.
The Fortnite Season 7 Battle Pass has also been detailed today, showing off new weapon and vehicle wraps, as well as a bunch of new skins. The first version of Fortnite Creative is due to arrive with today’s update, giving Battle Pass owners their own private island to play on.
