
Söderlund admitted the timing is awkward. “It is odd,” he said. “I mean, we built Battlefield! But honestly, when I saw Battlefield 6 and what the team has produced, I recognized how much time and effort went into it.” He praised DICE’s work: “I think it looks really good, and I’m glad it does — it’s an IP and a game that deserves to be great.”
He also plans to try Battlefield 6 for himself — at least until Arc Raiders launches. “I want to play it,” Söderlund said. “And I will play it — until the day we release Arc Raiders. Then I’ll be playing Arc Raiders instead.” That leaves exactly nine days until Arc Raiders launches on October 30, a small window to sample one of 2025’s most anticipated shooters.
Embark’s lead insists games “cannot be built by an AI” and hopes they never will, while also saying he wants tools that let teams produce content far faster — an area where AI might prove useful.
