The first case of iPhone hacking via USB-C port recorded
Researcher Thomas Roth managed to reprogram the Type-C port controller in an iPhone, bypassing all security checks, uncovering the smartphone’s firmware and communication protocols.
As a result, the hacked port can be used not only to access data but also to remotely execute malicious actions on any Apple device with a USB-C port.
It is worth noting that this is a singular instance that was demonstrated at a themed congress. The hacking process is quite complex and requires direct access to the device.
