Elliott Smith’s XO and Figure 8 Get 50th Birthday Deluxe Editions: Listen

Today, August 6, would have marked the 50th birthday of singer-songwriter Elliott Smith. To rejoice the event, UMe has launched new digital deluxe editions of the final two albums Smith launched in his lifetime: XO (1998) and Figure 8 (2000). Hear them under.

The new version of XO has 9 added tracks, together with Smith’s Oscar-nominated Good Will Hunting music “Miss Misery.”

Seven tracks have been added to Figure 8. The digital deluxe version consists of “Figure 8”—Smith’s cowl of the the “Schoolhouse Rock!” song—which was initially launched solely on the Japanese edition of the album. The last monitor on the brand new Figure 8 version is Smith’s cover of the Beatles’ “Because,” initially featured on the 1999 American Beauty soundtrack.
