From the first moment we imagined Horizon, we always thought about it as a multiplayer game. LEGO Horizon Adventures was our first small step, with Steel Frontiers we’re taking a bigger one. There is much more to come, and we’re excited to show you what is coming. https://t.co/acdlCWJPG9November 14, 2025
Guerrilla is partnering with NCSoft on Steel Frontiers, with NCSoft taking the lead on development. The announcement video — roughly ten minutes long — hinted at an advanced combat system and large-scale raids. NCSoft will run the game on its Purple platform, enabling seamless cross-platform play between PC and mobile; the studio also indicated the title will not be available on PS5 at launch.
Separately, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier has reported that Guerrilla is developing another multiplayer-focused Horizon project in-house. Schreier described that untitled effort as Guerrilla’s “next big project”; details remain scarce and the project has not been officially announced. Schreier’s post contains the original comment.
Since the original Horizon Zero Dawn arrived in 2017, the franchise has grown significantly for Sony. A film adaptation is reportedly in development with a potential 2027 release window. A third single-player installment was hinted at after Forbidden West, though updates on that project have been limited. In addition, the VR spin-off Horizon Call of the Mountain launched in 2023.
