EA Cancels Titanfall Universe Extraction Shooter and Announces Major Layoffs
Electronic Arts has confirmed layoffs of 300 to 400 employees from various divisions. The management described this as “targeted structural changes.”
Around a hundred employees from Respawn studio were also affected, including members of the Apex Legends, Star Wars Jedi, and as-yet-unannounced project teams.
Additionally, the development of an extraction shooter in the Titanfall universe has been canceled. The game was in the early stages of production and far from release.
Despite this, Respawn continues development of the third part of Star Wars Jedi and the tactical game Star Wars Zero Company.
