All of this sounds promising, and I’m eager to learn more about the fresh cast and narrative threads. Still, my main curiosity is what that “really big surprise” the developers hinted at last month might be.
We won’t have to wait long—Square Enix says the remake bundle launches on October 30, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
