One of the more annoying issues after Battlefield 6’s record-breaking launch is a bug that causes persistent bloom. For some players, weapon reticles fail to snap back into position after firing, which undermines accuracy in a multiplayer shooter meant to simulate chaotic battlefields.
Recoil is designed so continuous fire reduces precision, eventually scattering shots around your intended point of aim. That’s a normal FPS mechanic players adapt to. What isn’t normal is when dispersion remains elevated even after you stop firing and the cooldown should have restored your aim.
Streamer TacticalBrit posted a clear example comparing normal aim to the bugged behaviour. In the latter half of the clip the shot spread is visibly wider, despite the pause that should have reset dispersion.
The Gunplay in Battlefield 6 feels rough sometimes because it is still not working correctly. Spread/bloom is not resetting correctly. #Battlefield6 – Example: pic.twitter.com/ymILTAzh6v

Popular streamer Shroud called out the glitch as a carryover from the beta, but designer Florian Le Bihan — principal game designer on Battlefield 6 — clarified the situation. Le Bihan explained that while the beta bug was fixed, the team discovered two additional issues that can cause unintended increases in dispersion. He wrote on X that these problems can make your shots scatter more than intended.
Le Bihan says the team is preparing a hotfix and plans further balancing changes. Given how clearly reproducible and irritating this bug is, a patch is likely to arrive soon — possibly alongside fixes for related issues such as ghost bullets.
Le Bihan has previously acknowledged the anomaly and asked the community for more examples. If you spot strange behaviour, sharing clips to his feed is a good way to help the devs reproduce and prioritize the problem.
Battlefield 6 players have also been exploiting ladders to soar across maps despite movement nerfs — and EA has already said it will address that exploit as well.
