On Tuesday morning (July 24), Demi Lovato was hospitalized for an apparent overdose. Today, she’s shared a statement in regards to the incident, thanking those that supported her and speaking about her restoration. “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” she mentioned. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have no done yet.” See the total assertion under.

Last 12 months, Lovato launched the documentary Simply Complicated, which detailed her struggles with substance abuse and habit. She was admitted to rehab in October 2010 when she was 18 years previous “for emotional and physical issues” and spent a while in 2013 residing in a Los Angeles “sober house.”
On her newest single “Sober,” Lovato acknowledges her sixth 12 months of sobriety (which she tweeted about this previous March), in addition to a potential relapse.
