Is Skill Really “Minimally Considered” in Black Ops 7? – YouTube

YouTuber XclusiveReloaded ran a comparison between his main (high-skill) account and a fresh account. He observed that matches on his primary account tended to have much lower ping: roughly 1 in 10 games on the main account reached about 20 ms, while the new account saw that latency in around 8 out of 10 matches.
Those findings imply matchmaking can prioritize player skill over ping in certain situations, which produces noticeably different experiences depending on your account. XclusiveReloaded does note the overall experience is still better than some previous Call of Duty releases, but he says it’s a regression compared with the beta.
Fans have expressed frustration over what they see as a bait-and-switch. The ModernWarzone account on X commented, “Just watched Ace’s entire SBMM video and… not looking good.” and urged Treyarch to address the issue, arguing the footage “definitely indicates a trend of skill not being minimally considered in his matchmaking.” View on X
ModernWarzone owner DougDagnabbit described the results as “genuinely such sad results,” adding, “It’s at least been proven that skill is considered above ping in some instances, which should NEVER be the case… Just gotta laugh at this point.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 review: I respect Treyarch’s attempt to make the weirdest Call of Duty possible, but it results in a campaign misfire and multiplayer that’s hardly revolutionary.
