“We’re sorry the game reached this state. We recognised the issue but did not prioritise it correctly, and our initial plan was to include the fix in Update 7.0,” the blog states. “We have now reclassified problems of this kind as Showstopper, Severity A — meaning similar future issues are blockers for a full release and will require immediate Hotfix responses.”
The current hotfix is focused mainly on campaign AI and the studio says that will remain a priority. Additional details will appear in patch notes as fixes are deployed, but no firm timetable has been provided.
Meanwhile, Creative Assembly is preparing its 25th Anniversary Showcase on December 4, promising multiple reveals. “Alongside the release of our next DLC, we’ll also unveil the future of Total War; new historical and fantasy titles, introduced by the people bringing these new games to life,” the company teases.
It seems unlikely Total War: Warhammer IV will be among the announcements, but hopefully the studio can resolve these issues before then — reaching a 25-year milestone is a notable achievement.
