Caviar introduced two luxurious versions of the already expensive tri-fold smartphone, the Huawei Mate XT
The design of the custom models is inspired by Chinese culture: the Black Dragon model is covered with black crocodile leather and features real gold accents, symbolizing the scales of the Xuanlong dragon from Chinese mythology.
The second model, Gold Dragon, is fully coated in 24-carat gold, with a surface texture that mimics the imperial swords forged in the Chinese city of Longquan — the birthplace of the Chinese art of multi-layer sword making.
Caviar will release 88 units of each version, as 88 is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture.
Both models are available with 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options. The Black Dragon version is priced from $12,770 (~1.2 million ₽), while the Gold Dragon model starts at $14,500 (~1.37 million ₽).
