Another reviewer says the PC build is “laggy and runs miserably” even with updated drivers, and that multiplayer encounters feel unbalanced — deaths coming in an instant in core modes, which they describe as a step back from Black Ops 6 despite new features and reworked content. See that comment.
Reactions to the campaign itself have become a source of entertainment online. A set-piece featuring a massive biomechanical soldier is being widely shared, and many viewers are incredulous. One reply on social media asks, “Wtf is Call of Duty even about nowadays? The last campaign I played was the OG MW3,” while another likens parts of the campaign to a “playable Skibidi Toilet” clip. See the reply and view the popular quote‑tweet.
A separate clip shows the player controlling a group of undead in Vorkuta — a callback to the original Black Ops — and that particular homage has not gone down well with everyone. “Ah of course, because how dare they forget to absolutely shit on the legacy of one of gaming’s single greatest campaign missions,” one user wrote in response. Read the reaction.
Our own Black Ops 7 review points out how far the campaign has drifted from previous entries: it “feels like Black Ops 7’s campaign is verging on Destiny or even Borderlands territory.” As a futuristic sci‑fi entry, Black Ops has always allowed developers room to experiment — but this time many feel the creative liberties may have gone too far, even though critical reviews have generally been more favorable.
