Bloomberg: AirPods Pro 3 to Feature Heart Rate Monitoring
According to analyst Mark Gurman, Apple concluded during internal testing that the sensors in AirPods show relatively minor discrepancies compared to the heart rate sensors in the Apple Watch.
The technology needs further refinement and is expected to be introduced in the next generation of Pro models. However, there will be a long wait: Gurman reports that the headphones will not be released in 2025 as they are in the early stages of development.
On one hand, the feature might seem superfluous, but on the other, not everyone wears smartwatches, while more people use wireless headphones. This will allow users to monitor their health metrics without a gadget on their wrist, which could be more convenient for many.
