I've played Gloomhaven solo with multiple characters so assumedly you can do that (and very much had fun, so I'm still interested), but it really would be the best thing to have.
Gloomhaven was designed to be played cooperatively between four players, and has secret initiative values and objectives to allow players to deliberately/accidentally stuff up other players.
Making this single-player only reduces some of the fun of the physical game, and limits its value as a digital adaptation.
I'll still probably buy this if the adaptation is any good - but the lack of multiplayer is a questionable omission.
And besides, if they did add multiplayer to the title, it wouldn't be at the cost of your precious single player experience. The game would just become a 1-4 player game like the board game it is based off, that's all. Why get all pissy about a feature you never have to use?
Lmao. No one asking for PvP or whatever. We need the mode that is DEFAULT in the board game - cooperative. Solo mode is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for people without friends.
If they want to sell it for any amount beyond 1$ they really need to implement multiplayer.
(I guess with multiplayer 20$ would be a fair price, but given the success of the board game they might even get away with 30$.)
agreed, adding multiplayer for an TBS is so easy nowadays...
Have done it several times on my own. Really not hard at all.
Expecially if you use Unity with Photon.
If I wanted to simulate the actual game with MP, I'd play the TTS.
