Uninstall > Refund > Wait till Bamco fixes game

It's not the perfect solution, but until bandai namco does something about the cheating we can all ip block cheaters.

This is why I said to back up your saves regularly.

the very fact that you're willing to manually IP block cheaters is why bamco isn't going to do anything about the cheaters.

You can make scripts to do it for you using any OS out there. There are free scripting utilities that are easy to use, or you can just use Window's batch files.

It's a bit complicated to get start but hey, at least you'll learn something. I plan on doing it.

Alt tab out the game after each boss and copy the save file to your backup folder, simple. People have done it in all the souls games.

It's a bit more tricky but you can find which vpn they are using and block all associated ips with that vpn provider.

Nobody is going to stop Malcolm, he's been doing this in every Dark Souls game for the last half decade with no end in sight. Here's how you can personally avoid him.

and block communication with him on the right tab. This cuts off all connections with him since Remastered uses the steam servers. You cannot be matched with his main account anymore.
Now you have to block the rest of his accounts, he has 5 known available ones as admins on his Malcolm Reynolds steam group. Go to his profile's groups, and do the same block thing for each admin there.
Good, you can't be matched with him anymore until he banned 6 times over and runs dry out of smurfs.

The rest of the world isn't like Korea when it comes to cheating in online games being a criminal offense unfortunately. He's free to do as he wants with the only repercussion being from the private sector (FROM Software) who themselves are unaware.
