Steam Review Situation
This thread hopefully will not get locked for misinfo, since at least none of my content will be inaccurate.

It is certainly strange to see that Valve has introduced the filtering option for the game. I haven't seen another game do it. They aren't exactly deleting reviews, but they certainly do have seem to gotten Valves sympathy and they enacted filtering so average users don't see real scores.

Pretty disappointed in Valve, but most of that is still pointed at Gajin. The economy isn't a simple fix, but they could've decided years ago that maybe nerfing the player economy into the ground wasn't a good PR decision.

Edit: You can disable the filtering setting by clicking reviews and changing preference. Pretty impressed by the nearly 100k reviews.

It also seems like in-game numbers are seeing a hit. WT used to average around 70-80k players daily, it has started (at least on the Steam client side) seeing less than 70k daily. I don't have a way to check the dedicated launcher stats.

And don't forget to repost your reviews because 70k of them got placed as off topic remember to make them actual criticism.

I have seen it a few times on games that have been review bombed, in those cases they were smaller over a shorter period of time, but i think steam does a good job of showing that it did happen and people can investigate why.

This is probably the first if not most blatant attempt by Valve to fix a games image this badly.

Oh, and to view the real score values. You can click the score and then on top it'll give you an option to "edit preference."

Pretty happy to see the numbers behind the scores though. I gotta check SteamDB to see how many people are actually playing though.

If you have skill issues and cant get sl because you are bad, "fixing" the eco will not change anything nor will rev bombing...

I've seen several positive reviews that are equally off topic and it feels like bs to me.

I've seen the valve system kick in several times. Say what you will about it, but the system is working as intended. Besides, on the user end you can turn on an option to include all those reviews that have been flagged by the system anways.

That completely defeats the purpose of the negative reviews if you need to 'opt in' to see them.

Lots of reviews that are basically useless whether its up or down. But you can see a lot of up reviews with text that is entirely negative so I have to wonder if people clicked up accidentally or its some stockholm syndrome thing of trying to bait people into hating themselves for playing the game.
