This perhaps the best and easiest way to keep yourself informed. This Dev Tracker follows and shows all the posts made by the Devs. Primarily Madmole is the one you want to follow as he is the most vocal dev that interacts with the community. If you follow no other outlet this is the best as it has everything you need to keep track of. I highly recommend it.

A17 Changes and Fixes List: Updated as we learn them from the developers!

Maple Forest given an autumn colors palette
Every biome remastered for Unity 2017
Game Engine update to Unity 2017
Removed player collision from yucca and aloe to improve travel
Replace houses in Diersville with dungeon style POI houses
XP indicator bar added to HUD directly above the tool belt
Directx11 and Vulkan support added
Zombies ragdoll upon impact by vehicles and no longer impede vehicle movement
New art and animations for Deer
Deer split into Stag and Doe versions
Additional paint textures added
Wainscotting Block added
Current Wellness system removed
Enemy HP bar added to HUD
Small decorative pipe set added
Window trimming added
Reworked the main menu navigation and appearance
Increased the block id limit to....[higher than it was] 1/26/18
SP mode removed for one unified MP mode. You can play MP solo. 2/5/18

This might not be the intended place to ask this, but yeah, the removal of SP mode in order to have a unified MP mode, does that mean that you will need an online connection in order to play Solo? Is that really a good idea?

Stealing my own reply on this issue from another thread:
SP is not removed!
It is just a part of the MP Options set now.
It is essentially a MENU change.

Behind the scenes SP and MP were the same. Look in your logs right now to see the game starts a server and you join that server when playing SP.
The 2 options were redundant and caused an issue for migrating between SP and MP if one wanted. Now it will be easy to decide "Hey, I don't want to play alone, but I want to continue this save. Change number of players." OR "I'm tired of playing with others but my base is cool and want to continue this game alone. Change number of players back to 1"

The only difference now is that you Choose 1 player rather than the SurvivalSP and you can change your mind anytime you want.

Yes, pause will work when you are playing alone.

I hope this alleviates any concerns.

BTW - here is my own not real code interpretation of the change as described:
Old: If GameType = SurvivalSP then do stuff (ex allow pause)
New: If GamePlayerCount = 1 then do stuff (ex allow pause)

I don't believe I ever selected the SP option to play and yet rarely have I played with others.
