Why Early Access?

“Tape to Tape has been actively engaging with the community from the earliest days of development. We strongly believe in the Early Access model and the benefits of receiving continual design feedback from our community. Tape to Tape has a solid foundation and already offers a vast amount of content but we’re dedicated to adding and expanding the game further. We want to keep communication open to continue improving the game as we move towards a widespread release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game in Early Access until the end of the year to obtain as much feedback as possible and incorporate it into the game. The exact duration is not set in stone and will depend on how much we feel the need to modify the gameplay or expand the game's scope before it's finalized.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Throughout EA, we plan to enhance the gameplay by introducing manual goaltenders, a fighting mode, and a range of quality-of-life improvements. Additionally, we are thrilled to work on some highly requested customization options.

For the Roguelite campaign, we are planning on additional powerups and modifications for goaltenders, including more relics, powerups and teams for even more variance and replayability. We plan on adding more variety to the Challenge nodes against the Spartans and want to provide more Angus variations during Events. We’re also planning on adding more dialogues and an actual opening to the campaign.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core systems and features are all currently working and offer a deep and unique hockey roguelite experience. The roguelite campaign features 3 complete Acts with 12 teams and dozens of unlockable players and skills. Tape to Tape is essentially complete and can be played from start to finish. Each playthrough already lets you build completely different teams and experience the game differently. The campaign can be played solo or cooperatively, either using Steam remote access or local play and competitively through our Play Now mode.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“To reflect the progress made during Early Access, we plan to increase the price of the game slightly for the full release. Buy early to support the development and save some money!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback is an integral part of our development process, and we value every comment and suggestion we receive. Thanks to the support of our community, we have already made significant improvements to Tape to Tape through our Beta releases. To provide your input and help us improve further, we invite you to join our Discord Server, where we are most active! Additionally, we will keep you updated on our progress and how your input is shaping the game through regular updates both on Steam and Discord.”
