So OP, what's your plan to make your investment back? With so much FUD everywhere these days, I'd like to hear a contrarian.

Hi there,

I also have the just arrived P106 cards. Did you have an issue trying to set them up?

I have issues trying to get Windows 7 (on MSI Z97 gaming 5 motherboard) and 10 (on Asus ROG z270f motherboard) to recognise just 1 extra card of a start. I can use 2 regular GPUs concurrently, but it just doesn't recognise the P106.

Power connectors are in. Tried with and without risers.
Nvidia drivers for the appropriate OS were installed.
No dice.

It got from a Windows error code 43 to code 28 now. It just shows an exclamation mark beside the GPU where it shows 3D video controller - drivers for this device not installed.

Any help greatly appreciated.

p106-100 card is exactly same chip and specifications as for gtx 1060, just a little tweaked clock and memory, you may use 1060 but why use it if you can have hands on 1080 or 1080ti,

those guys at nvidia are making us idiots, first they seperated HPC cards from gaming cards and selling them at enormously high prices, now they seperated card for mining, while actually they are same. I am a researcher, and use GPU's for superconducting simulations, I know how they fooled us by selling k80's and m60's.

Yet another card that "opened up the backplate" for no reason, since the fins direct the air the OTHER way.

Not generally an issue for a riser rig though....

because 1080 and 1080Ti aren't so good for mining, and all other cards are basically sold out.

LOL

haha ya the 1080ti is like damn near the best GPU miner money can buy right now Cheesy
these new "miner" cards were because NOONE bought "460" and "1060" so they reused the chips with a rebrand, anyone can see that
or so i thought ;p
