Makes sense with the quality of some new AAA releases as well as SteamDeck/OS compatibility issues.

Huh, that's kinda cool. Would've preferred it to be some sort of standardized thing instead of just whenever the pub/devs decide it's okay, but I realize that with varying game lengths it would be very hard to do.

This would probably get me to buy so many more games if it became the norm. Sure, buying and refunding is pretty much the same thing, and it's easy as hell, but this is just much more convenient.

That's awesome, great way to find out if a game will run on your system and if it's a good port.
Dead Space is a good example, given its performance and stutters.

Oh, very cool. Great way to try the performance of Dead Space specifically.

I guess the refund policy of "no questions asked if playtime < 2hrs" was already a free trial with extra steps so might as well offer this.

This and the refund policy are why Steam is my favorite marketplace in gaming bar none.

This is great. Let's us test games for performance issues, which is desperately needed.

I'm assuming this is opt-in for publishers, so I hope more participate.

How would this work for non- DRM games?

Also would it count time you spend waiting for shader compilation? Does any of this time apply to refund period?

Cool idea though, especially for games coming in hot.
