Tight corridors and third person are a no go for me even though I usually prefer third person. I'm not totally adverse to first person and I totally get the decision to go first person for this game. It still looks massive and fun so I'm down.

I don't feel that any poll option represents my viewpoint. I don't have a problem with first-person perspective, but not having played it, I cannot claim to love the game.

I'm skipping it because it's only first person. I don't enjoy that kind of game, I don't like how it damages storytelling and my ability to care about my protagonist, and on top of all of that, "immersive" first person cameras make me extremely nauseous and give me migraines and eye strain.

It's just a chimera of bad that I'm not willing to shell out for. I'm incredibly disappointed in CDPR for not at least offering a third person toggle. We're never gonna see another RPG on Witcher 3's level.

I rarely play first-person games anymore. But, the reason I'm not buying CP2077 is frankly I didn't like what I've seen regardless of the perspective.
I'm sure I'll be interested in a future Witcher/Witcher-like game from them, though.

It just feels like a better looking Deus Ex. I wanted a cyberpunk The Witcher. And for rpgs like that, where getting loot and armor changes how your character looks... i always wanna get the raddest stuff that makes me look awesome.

That said, im still hyped, but it just felt too similar to Deus Ex imo.

Absolutely. I can't relate at all to the people who are being so anal about the first-person aspect. From what I saw in the demo the game is actually far better off for it. Arguments regarding immersion especially stump me. Some of y'all are dangerously close to just wanting a movie that occasionally asks for some low-effort input.

the game isn't my cup of tea, but I'm willing to try it when it's cheaper because the city environment looks amazing.

ib Cyberpunk gets a 95+ Metascore.

It disappointed me a lot because in my head I always imagined it as a third person game with melee combat and some shooting. Then it ended up being a FPS. And you don't even see your character talk during conversations like Fallout did.

So why are we even creating a character?

I like that the poll has an option for me in the first choice but I have to say I "love the game" lol.

Dealbreaker until I see more.

The characters and what they decided to showcase in the trailer wasn't my cup of tea. I'd much rather have a 2nd/3rd person perspective that switches to 1st person while aiming/firing if this game has customizable characters. What's the point of customizable characters if you can't even see your character? It's not emersion if you have third party in cutscenes.

If this game was a "create your own character" type of game then I'd expect to see the game designed more around that aspect in how we see and interact with our character.
If this game had premade characters and was a narrative focus game with a character or characters navigating this world I wouldn't mind the game more or less as it is now.

The trade-off of creating your characters will always be the narrative and how the story is written and presented to you; I'm not a big fan of strictly 1st person perspective in a lot of games, so I always choose to focus and enjoy more of the story experience or unique/fun gameplay elements that separates itself from other first-person games. So far I'm not seeing any of that, or at least anything that interests me in that regard. So right now, I'm just not interested until I see more.

Can't imagine letting the perspective of a game determine whether or not you'll play it. Unless FPS makes you motion sick, making a purchasing decision based on this would be ridiculous.

No, I have no problem playing Fallout, Elder Scroll and Deus Ex or other immersive sims in first person. Makes no difference with 2077.

CDPR's third person perspective in their games did not do any favors in terms of how their combat played. Perhaps that is more of the fault in variety and customization, but IMO it's much harder to mess up first person in this type of game.

I'll get it on pc, hate playing fps games on console.

Re7 and metroid prime are the only fps games I really enjoyed on console.

I just hate feeling like I'm just a pair of floating hands or guns.

No, it fits the cyberpunk genre (access to cybernetic enhancements that involves the brain). Though it would be nice to have a third-person option for those that wanted it.

Where is the option of no, it's not affecting my decision to buy it because I prefer first person. You know there are plenty of us who like first person. Honestly I can't even I understand aside from if it makes you motion sick how it being first or third is such a big deal you would not play it. I prefer first person but it's not like it kills a game for me just cause it is in third. It doesn't seem that big a deal to me.

I think it's quite exciting that people are getting a game that they've wanted, but respectfully, it's not for me. The setting really doesn't do it for it, and the gameplay seems a bit silly. But as I said in the other thread, I will wait for a final verdict on the gameplay once the game is out.

I hope the game really opens up and gives you options as to whether you play in first or third person, whether you use a melee or ranged weapon, if at all. I haven't read up on Cyberpunk 2020, but there is an equivalent to techers or other class types that aren't heavy on the conventional action, I'd be more enthused to grab the game earlier.

I hope we had a "Yes - because the fps view helps the immersion CDPR had been talking about and that's great" because that is my answer.

Did not vote.

I really liked the demo. The graphics and gameplay was lacking and seemed gltichy because it is far off but the actual missions that played out were so awesome. I wish we could've seen the same missions with different decisions.

The first person only view really isn't a deal breaker considering this game looks to be a spiritual sequel to the original Deus Ex which is one of the greatest games ever made.

Not at all. Many games I've played are first person so it's like a glove by now.

Attributes on the other hand..Don't ask why! I'm just not into them.

Ya'll complaining are going to make them postpone the game another year to add 3rd person to it.

As someone who enjoyed my short time with TW3 I was expecting yet another 3rd person game from CDPR but after e3 I kept wondering how the 1st person view would work and today CDPR answered my question. Absolutely getting this game, I prefer 1st fps to begin with.

Also very impressive of CDPR to go from 3rd person to 1st person. I doubt this game is current gen and if in fact it is, I believe it'll be cross gen with next gen consoles.

Nah. I vastly prefer third person, but I've played and really enjoyed a number of first person games. Right now, CP77 isn't a must buy for me because I still need to see more, because they didn't sell me on their vision with that gameplay video...at least not yet.

I mean, it's cause VR, right? They're just saving that for later. They're not seriously making a game called Cyberpunk that isn't in VR, are they?

C'mon.

I don't care about its metascore. The Witcher 3 is the only AAA third person RPG we're gonna get this gen, and that's a fucking tragedy.

As much as I'd love to see another take to its pedesta so soon, I think I could live with this seeing as it's one of my all-time favorite games. I don't get too much of that each gen to begin with if at all.

I like the perspective, it seems immersive.

I like that the combat looks simpler than Witcher, also.

It looks like one of those rare games that come along every few years or even a decade that every gamer should play.

I feel bad for anyone who won't play this game because of a perspective and/or the "graphics are bad" (lol).

I haven't been paying attention to it at all since hearing its an FPS. I was vaguely interested before despite the Witcher series never hooking me, but the perspective was enough for me to stop clicking any news topics about it completely.

I find is confusing that your thread title and poll question are at odds and I can see this giving false positives .I came in this thread ready to be like "no" then had to answer "yes" because both questions are not asking the same question.

I hear you there. I'm just disappointed that nobody's even trying to outdo it. It's such an incredible game and the fact we could go a decade without a legitimate follow-up hurts my soul. I don't even know if I'll still be playing games by then.

Dishonored was a much, much worse game for that decision and completing it was a chore, not fun.
Heresy, Dishonored would be so much worse if it was FP. The amount of control you have over your character as well as how they interact with props in Dishonored isn't possible with a 3rd person camera and animations:
