Persona 3 Portable romance candidate list

Persona 3 Portable, similarly to the other Persona games, will allow you to date various social link NPCs. There are a ton of social link options, and you can’t date all of them, so it can be confusing who to pursue if you want to sprinkle some romance into your playthrough.

Depending on which protagonist you pick, you can date different options, as social links change. Note that if you pick the male protagonist, you cannot have social links with the male members of your party at all. Their social links are replaced by other NPCs.

If you’re trying to max out all the social links to get an edge in battle (similarly to how you do in Persona 4 and 5), don’t bother. The only social link that adds battle abilities is the story-forced link, The Fool, which automatically ranks up as you play the game.

You can go on dates and pursue romance with the Velvet Room attendants, Elizabeth and Theodore, but they do not have social links.

Below are the romance candidates that have social links.

Persona 3 Portable male protagonist romance candidates

• Mitsuru Kirijo
• Yukari Takeba
• Chihiro Fushimi
• Yuko Nishiwaki
• Aigis

Note that all of these girls do not have versions of their social links where you just stay friends. By pursuing these links, you will end up dating them as you rank up. There’s no way to reject them.

Persona 3 Portable female protagonist romance candidates

• Shinjiro Aragaki
• Akihiko Sanada
• Ken Amada
• Ryoji Mochizuki
• Aigis

Unlike the girls, you can choose to just stay friends with the male romance candidates if you do not want to date them.

Shinjiro’s social link does not actually become romantic, but there are romantic dialogue choices for him outside of the social link in early October. In addition to this, Akihiko’s social link can reverse at rank nine if you pick the romantic text options and then reject him in the end.
