A teenage gunman faces murder charges after he shot and killed a man outside a Harlem barber shop, cops said.
Kevin Perez, 18, was busted Thursday, and charged with the Dec. 16 slaying of 24-year-old Oscar Hernandez.
Hernandez was sitting in a barber shop on Amsterdam Ave. at W. 151st St. shortly before 10 a.m., waiting to get a haircut.
Perez walked by, opened the shop door, and asked Hernandez what he was looking at, law enforcement sources said at the time..
Hernandez then stepped outside to confront him, police said. The two argued, and Perez started to walk away.
But the teen pulled a gun and shot Hernandez in the neck and back, cops said.
Hernandez’s family told the Daily News they believe his killing was a case of mistaken identity, and that he didn’t know his killer.
Police believe the shooting was gang-related. Cop sources said Hernandez was a member of the Bronx-based Thirdside Gang.
Perez awaited arraignment Thursday in Manhattan Criminal Court.
In other homicide arrests reported by police Thursday, Edward Sosa, 34, was charged in the murder of Jorge Martinez, 25, in Washington Heights. Cops found Martinez shot in the chest at about 1:40 a.m. Nov. 26 on W. 177th St. and Wadsworth Ave.
In the Bronx, cops arrested Amadou Sy, 38, accusing him of stabbing 38-year-old Semeka Daniel to death in their Williamsbridge apartment Dec. 14. Police believe the two had a romantic relationship, and they had argued over a trip, cops said.
