ASUS says that blower-the coolers are not dead, releases a new card

A graphics card no gamer asked for will soon become available in stores.

Blower-type coolers are a thing of the past unless you are using your daily rig for computer-related jobs, such as rendering or mining bitcoins. Then installing multiple 2-slot cards with a rear air exhaust may be the only solution. Make no mistakes though, blower-type coolers are not popular outside of multi-GPU cluster configurations. These cards are loud and not that easy to cool down, after all, there is usually only one fan on the card.

ASUS RTX 3070 Ti Turbo is no exception. A typical blower design with absolutely no RGB takes us back a few years when semi-custom reference coolers were still popular. This card is based on the latest addition to the NVIDIA Ampere family which is RTX 3070 Ti with full GA104 GPU. The Turbo packs two 8-pin power connectors and offers reference clock speeds of 1770 MHz and 19 Gbps GDDR6X memory.

What is not know is the pricing or whether somebody actually needs it. Blower-type coolers may be a good solution to those seeking a base for water-cooling though, as these cards are usually a bit cheaper than 3-fan and 3-slot designs. Either way, this card exists and will likely soon go on sale at some retailers, it has only been listed on the official ASUS website for about a week.
