Good post, would like again.👍

So what would qualify as a contribution to the mod discussion, apart from increasing "wit" and more hypocritical replies, anyway?

I remember donating 10 bucks. Do you need more?

Ooph. Just lock this so all the spam can stop and unlock it when you've got some news... I keep coming back to scroll through pages of Braindawg bickering.

Are the creators of this topic and mod on board with a lock?

It seems a shame to lock it, but most comments are either arguments or people calling for a lock. It'd be easier if you guys just didn't respond in the first place.

Do you guys have the ability to ban posting from certain users in specific topics?

That would probably be the best route. I'd like to see the continuation of decent discussion here.

snip

Not from specific topics unfortunately, it only works forum-wide.

Perhaps the best thing people can do is just take a step back from replying to any desperation comments or questions about the release. Just report them and we'll hide them. And then the normal discussion can resume.

Just to mention here, you can see two new screenshots in the News post, and there's more to come here as well!

Screenshots are looking good, but I hope that there will be reflections in the building windows in the future. That would look amazing with LC's large sum of sky scrapers.

OpenIV Team presents Liberty City in GTA V

lciv_v01.gif

(still coming sometime later this spring...)

Besides screens from @@Ash_735's article we got you two more:

lciv_s01.png

lciv_s02.png

Hey, @GooD-NTS...

1. I have request: can you upload these screenshots from this post and the Ash735's post you're mentioned related to your map conversion on the first post of this thread and do add them also on the page you're posted screenshots from your Liberty City's map conversion on OpenIV's website here http://openiv.com/?p=1301? (I checked both but all these new screens aren't present on neither of these places.) Thanks in advance!

2. Can you tell where you're currently with your IV's / EFLC' map conversion for GTA V your team are doing? What is finished, what you're working currently on? :panic: Thanks! :)

So the mod is behind schedule according to the blog post, we're probably looking at a late spring/summer release. More time to polish it so it isn't a big deal I guess

Featured on PC Gamer again.

One question though, I wonder how possible it would be to make the game change radio stations depending on where you are located? Kind of like how the country station doesn't appear until out in Bone County. So maybe it is possible to bring over the GTA IV radio stations too and have them enabled when you are in the new city and go back to V stations later? I would like to at least see it as a possible option for people to choose that if they like.

First of all, it's a big question whether it's possible to add extra radio stations to GTA V

i would say yes, because R* added the Lab to all consoles after the PC.

this means i think it must be possible

But they never added Liberty City to V which means it's impossible and this mod is totally fake :/

Or to be a little more polite: Just because Rockstar does something, it doesn't imply we can do the same.

I have waited for GTA V PC, so i'll wait for LC mod as well, duh.

Even if it means we'll have a tool that converts a GTAO character model files with attached clothing in a GTA IV ped.

Even better, we could enjoy Euphoria physics then.

As far as I recall, all config data for audio is stored inside dat15 and dat16 files, just like in IV, and we still cannot edit them. I know there is a tool for IV, but I don't think we can do a lot with it.

Radio is V is just like everything else, if it's marked as DLC, then it'll appear in the right place. In file terms, the following stations are counted as DLC on the PC version:

- Self Radio

- The Lab

In the same way various new TV content is loaded as DLC such as Princess Robot Bubblegum. It'd be a good idea to check "patchday3ng" as that's the one where it's loading the additional Radio and TV content as DLC into the main game. As for boundaries, yes, this is also possible and it's a really cool effect that they made in GTAV that gets very little use.

Interesting.

I actually wonder, shouldn't it be possible to add TV shows to the game? I actually had an idea that may work. I would combine the GTA IV, GTA EFLC, and GTA V TV stations. Heck maybe throw in some real life TV shows for personal use.

It would be cool to have the LC stations, but LC should be farther away for it to work well.

If the current build isn't going to have proper paths, why not have LC placed at a geographically realistic location. Bow that I think of it, the location where LC sits now. I would love to add Countryside Mountains V there. Then east of that map, Red Dead Desert. This would be exellent because it would simulate California east of LA, and it would then cross over into Arizona.

I think it's possible. First we need to mount our folder with movies from IV as the dlcMovies:/ device (see \common\data\extrafoldermount.xml in the patchday3ng dlc) and then we should edit tvplaylists.xml/tvplaylists_x64.xml from the update (I'm not sure that it's possible to add some new playlists but at least we should be able to edit the existing ones)

I will do this experiment later, because it's not a number one priority feature for now.

I'm still not sure about that, as I know there is specific amount (hardcoded) of radio slots in game. So all this stuff should be researched more deeply.

In current build no, but in the one of the next builds the paths are planned to be done. So what is the profit to move map somewhere and then move it back to the current location? Edited by Chipsman

I just talked to NewTheft and it will be possible to make a script for this mod like travelling via plane to be more realistic.Like he did with North Yankton.

Will be great if someone make script to traveling like in gta sa. So you see all the way from ls to lc and vice versa.

Not just an icon on the map and teleport from one place to another.

As for the map location, it would give people options to have it ether where it is now, or a realistic location. Besides, eventually the water, and path limits will be cracked. When that happens, I am sure the map will get moved.

I hope to be able to make LC feel separate from LS. Since the first build doesn't have paths, I would like to have the option to place it in a realistic location for an emersive flying experience.

But I have a few questions regarding the first release of the project that aren't exactly clear to me.

1. Will the first build support interiors? If so, will MLO instances and timecyc modifiers be used for them so it will give the indoors effect and not look/sound like your outside?

2. If we convert from EFLC, will it support the map updates in the DLC folder or will it just use the original GTA IV map? If so, will it automatically use the TBOGT map, or let us choose between the original map, the TLAD map, and the TBOGT map? Note: Due to limits in the GTA IV engine, Rockstar disabled some map files from GTA IV. It is cutscene interiors. I remember that Bernie's apartment and Pegorino's house were disabled. I hope that if you use the TBOGT map, you can include these interiors.

I remember that the episode changes have been brought up quite often and that it will be converted if you have EFLC and choose that version

This is probably a dumb question, and I'm not a programmer, but if this is feasible on PC....why can't this process by sold to or bought by Rockstar Games and incorporated into GTA Online GTA V or at least future games?
