“It’s a million little knobs that we’re tweaking,” Lemay-Comtois explained, adding that the team continues to explore options. “But don’t lose hope — you might very well see a manual jump addition.” He also acknowledged that Mirage’s implementation raises expectations for Shadows.

The host pointed out that Mirage required a near-complete overhaul of its controls and UI to integrate the jump button in a way that felt right. Modern Assassin’s Creed titles are highly intricate, with deep combat systems, RPG progression, and large historical worlds — dedicating a control solely to jumping is not as straightforward as it appears.

There remains a possibility for a manual jump, but Mirage only received the feature well after launch, so players shouldn’t expect an immediate patch.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows lead says microtransactions fund free updates: “It allows us to do the Isu stuff, the quest stuff, the parkour updates.”
