The update also adds a new highest difficulty, Ultimate Assassin, a more moderate difficulty option, and a custom-difficulty system so players can tailor the challenge. There’s a raft of quality-of-life improvements too — for example, in-game rewards are now tied to each player’s account rather than to a single save, and you can cancel a Chain Kill once it’s been initiated.

Players have praised the scale of the post-launch support. One Reddit commenter wrote, “[Ubisoft] Bordeaux is doing God’s work, please ignore any hate they get and give them funding for a full budget AC game.” Another top reply called the update “incredibly generous for a free patch.” A separate user compared the support to other franchises, noting expansions and long-term updates for similar titles.

Ubisoft’s collaboration with Saudi organizations for this expansion has sparked debate. The DLC was revealed at an event in Saudi Arabia, and Ubisoft has acknowledged receiving funding and access to local experts for development — though the precise details of that partnership and the extent of funding remain unclear.

“This title update to Assassin’s Creed Mirage was made possible thanks to the support of local and international organizations, through access to experts, historians and resources to ensure the creation of an authentic and accurate setting,” Ubisoft said in a statement in September, responding to questions about its Saudi collaborations.
