Ariana Grande’s Glinda Gets a Younger Counterpart in New Wicked: For Good Teaser
Published October 22, 2025 — Film arrives in theaters November 2025

Universal Pictures released a new teaser on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, that expands the world introduced in the first Wicked film by showing a young Glinda for the first time. In the preview an elementary-school-aged Glinda, dressed in the character’s signature pink, defiantly declares, “I want to be magical — for real.”
The clip then shifts to Ariana Grande’s adult Glinda, who embraces her role as Glinda the Good: ceremonially donning a tiara, testing a bubble-shaped flight device and positioning herself as an upbeat public face for the Wizard of Oz’s regime. The teaser hints at both whimsy and the ceremonial trappings that come with her new public persona.
Grande publicly celebrated the child actor cast as her on-screen younger self, sharing a warm Instagram post that praised the youngster and called her “my tiny girl in the bubble.” The role of young Glinda is played by Scarlett Spears, and Grande’s post expressed affection and admiration for the performer’s portrayal.
These glimpses of young Glinda and the earlier film’s portrayal of child Elphaba (played in the first movie by Karis Musongole) illustrate how director Jon M. Chu is deepening the characters’ backstories for the screen. The Wicked films also introduce two original songs by Stephen Schwartz: Cynthia Erivo performs “No Place Like Home,” while Ariana Grande sings “The Girl in the Bubble.”
