Arc Raiders launches with over 260,000 concurrent players and 88% positive Steam reviews, outpacing The Finals despite a $40 price tag

Arc Raiders

Arc Raiders has launched, and although the developers admitted it was “insanity” to release between Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7, those concerns appear less pressing than expected. The extraction shooter debuted to strong early feedback on Steam, and despite a $40 price point it has already eclipsed Embark’s previous free-to-play title, The Finals, in peak concurrent players.

According to SteamDB, Arc Raiders has reached a peak concurrent player count of 263,739 — a number that continued to climb while this piece was being updated. That places it fourth on Steam at the moment, behind long-established heavyweights such as Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Battlefield 6. This Steam figure doesn’t include players on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, so total concurrent users are higher.

Early player sentiment looks favorable: the first several thousand Steam reviews sit at roughly 89% positive. The handful of negative critiques tend to center on the cost of cosmetics — individual skins are being listed at around $20 — so the community’s reaction to monetization and the game’s long-term replayability will be important to watch in the days following launch.
