Apple may reduce the cost of Apple Vision Pro 2 through the use of cheaper displays
Rumor has it that Apple is switching to a less expensive OLED technology to cut production costs for the new version of Apple Vision Pro.
The company JDI recently supplied OLED displays for the mixed reality headset using a glass substrate.
If this is indeed the case, the pixel density on the panel will be almost halved. Currently, the Apple Vision Pro uses a silicon substrate, which provides a much higher resolution.
A lower resolution display will be cheaper to manufacture, and that is why the cost of Apple Vision Pro 2 might be significantly lower than the current version.
