Annie Lennox has launched her first solo single since 2010. It’s titled “Requiem for a Private War,” and it was written for the brand new biopic A Private War. Take a pay attention under.
In an interview, the Eurythmics singer elaborated that she was requested to contribute the tune by A Private War director Matthew Heineman. The movie follows the overseas correspondent Marie Colvin, who was killed whereas masking the siege of the Syrian metropolis of Homs in 2012. Lennox defined that she had met Colvin earlier than the journalist died. “I can’t say I was a friend, but the tragedy is if Marie hadn’t been killed, I definitely feel I would have seen much more of her,” she informed EW. “I don’t want to be in any way sentimental about any of this, but if Marie were here, I feel that she would feel that this was worthy of her.”
