Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Switch 2 update trailer failed to mention a major quality-of-life change fans have begged for since launch

As highlighted by Twitter user Chase247, Nintendo confirmed the update will let players craft directly from storage — meaning you no longer need to manually move every material into your on-person inventory before using a crafting table. Combined with batch crafting, this change dramatically speeds up island construction, yet Nintendo buried the detail in a short website blurb.

On the Animal Crossing: New Horizons — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack store page, Nintendo describes the free update for all players: “The free update is available to all Animal Crossing: New Horizons players and includes a few more additions to make crafting items and managing your island a little easier. You can now craft items in batches, pulling materials directly from your storage.”

With Nintendo nonchalantly confirming one of the community’s most requested features, reactions poured in online. One player wrote that it’s exactly what they’d been asking for and questioned why it wasn’t highlighted more prominently, while others simply celebrated: “Holy crap, it’s about time.”

I’m deleting my 1,000-hour island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to start fresh with the Switch 2 update — and I never thought I’d be this excited to owe Tom Nook bells again.
