Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of The Witcher saga, confirmed that he is not involved in the development of The Witcher 4 and has not contributed any new ideas to it. Sapkowski made this clear at the launch of his new book “Crossroads of Crows” (orig. Rozdroże kruków), when GamesRadar+ reporters asked about his involvement with the CD Projekt Red project.
Sapkowski noted that, unlike the earlier games in the series—when the studio would periodically consult him for lore guidance—such requests are now “a rare occurrence”.
My contracts with people in the games industry are currently excellent. I hope they remain that way.
