Analyst “100% Certain” of Major Witcher 3 Release in 2026 as DLC Rumors Gain Traction

Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

“To achieve such numbers, the studio needs something far more impactful than a simple patch or a port to a niche console,” Chrzanowski explained. He suggests that a fresh expansion is the “natural path” for the company, though he hasn’t ruled out a standalone, Witcher-themed project similar in scope to The Thaumaturge.

Interestingly, Chrzanowski points to Fool’s Theory—the studio led by The Witcher veterans currently working on the first game’s remake—as a potential collaborator or developer for this mystery project. He noted that CDPR is typically very deliberate with its public statements, and recent hints about “new content” suggest a release is imminent.

While the original core team behind The Witcher 3 moved on long ago after completing Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, a new bridge between Geralt’s past adventures and the upcoming The Witcher 4 makes strategic sense. With the next major installment still years away, a return to the Wild Hunt could be the perfect way to sustain the franchise’s massive audience.
