Alters Star Alex Jordan Loved Playing “Sex Noises” in BG3

If you’ve played recent games, there’s a good chance you’ve heard Alex Jordan’s voice and not even noticed. The lead in the 2025 survival simulator The Alters has accumulated more than a hundred video game credits — a mix of background NPCs and prominent parts in titles like Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, multiple Sherlock Holmes adaptations, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

One credit on his Wikipedia that tends to stop readers in their tracks is listed simply as “sex noises” for Baldur’s Gate 3.

Jordan laughed about the work in a recent video interview with Polygon, describing the audition as delightfully absurd. A producer invited him to participate, then sent a file package that required only a quick explanation — the “script” was essentially a list of filenames denoting different varieties of kissing and moaning.

Undaunted, Jordan handled the session like a consummate professional. He called the episode a funny little internet moment and said he enjoys the variety of work voice acting affords him — from incidental NPCs to headline parts.

Humility came up repeatedly in Polygon’s conversation: Jordan welcomes roles of any size. Unlike some sectors of film and television where actors can become boxed into a certain tier and find it hard to step back, voice acting allows performers to continually experiment and simply “do the work.”

That ethos — embracing every assignment and striving to make each character distinct — has helped Jordan build a prolific career spanning more than a decade. But he admits the impulse to reinvent his voice for every role can be burdensome, and perhaps an unrealistic standard to impose on oneself.

Despite occasional doubt, Jordan is grateful for the opportunities he’s had. He recognizes that many up-and-coming actors would envy his slate of projects, and he’s happy to keep taking parts that let him stretch, even if that means recording the occasional kiss or, yes, some playful moans.
