All the news from PlayStation Showcase 2021

Catch up on everything Sony announced at its latest livestream

Sony has brought back its September PlayStation Showcase, which last year heralded the launch of the new PlayStation 5, for a 40-minute parade of news, updates, release dates, and other announcements for the console’s biggest titles. Is this going to be regularly scheduled programming from now on? You know what they say: Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, but three times is an annual thing. Guess we’ll find out next year.

Meantime, Polygon is rounding up everything seen, heard, and announced at the event right here. Viewers can expect fresh looks at the God of War sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, Final Fantasy 16, and the Grand Theft Auto 5 enhanced edition for the newest console generation. The showcase will cover first- and third-party games, and possibly new titles we haven’t heard of yet. All Sony Interactive Entertainment said in announcing the showcase is that the next-generation of PlayStation VR wouldn’t be discussed.

PlayStation’s official YouTube channel has recaps and trailers of the event and everything shown there. Or read on for breakouts of all the news from Thursday’s livestream:
