According to Bethesda, players should notice quicker load times for the Creations menu and main game menus, as well as faster redemption of Creation Club items. The upcoming hotfix will also address stability issues—especially on Xbox One and PlayStation 4—and resolve problems that prevent DLC-dependent creations from functioning and that, in some cases, cause DLC to become uninstalled on PlayStation after updating the game.
Bethesda says the hotfix will be followed by two larger patches: one planned for the week of Nov 24 and another in the first half of December. The studio will share more details about those updates soon and has thanked players for filing support tickets, promising to act on that feedback as quickly as possible.
Xbox Series X|S players will get a substantial increase to Creations local storage, with capacity becoming growable up to 100GB to better suit individual needs. Bethesda is also investigating options to expand storage on PlayStation consoles.
Reaction from the community was immediate: one excited player remarked via X, “100GB of mod storage — that’s wild.” Others expressed concern that the new “growable” storage might be a paid add-on rather than free; some fans hope Bethesda offers the increase at no extra cost as it works to repair the Anniversary Edition’s rocky start.
I’m hopeful Bethesda continues to roll out prompt hotfixes and larger updates — fixes that could eventually leave the Anniversary Edition in a much stronger state, perhaps even approaching the polish seen with Skyrim’s Anniversary Edition. See Skyrim’s Anniversary Edition.
Todd Howard admitted that Fallout 4’s cinematic dialogue system—despite lengthy development—didn’t land as intended and failed to connect with many players.
