2025’s Most Intriguing Sci‑Fi FPS Arrives Soon — With a Twist

Ambrosia Sky — Act One Arrives November 10 as an Episodic Release

After its first appearance at Summer Game Fest in June, Ambrosia Sky has kept players intrigued. Indie studio Soft Rains revealed this week that the game’s first chapter will launch on November 10, but it isn’t arriving as a single, complete title.

Soft Rains is releasing Ambrosia Sky as an episodic experience split into three acts. November’s launch will only deliver Act One; Acts Two and Three are slated for release sometime next year. The developer says the format better serves the game’s narrative design, reflects the realities of a small, self-published team, and allows them to ship a fully finished opening chapter while they continue work on the rest of the project. A roadmap outlining plans for 2026 is expected to follow.

Adopting an episodic schedule likely gives the team more breathing room to polish later acts, and early sales of Act One could provide additional resources to accelerate development. Soft Rains unveiled both the episodic plan and the Act One release date in a new trailer embedded below.

In Ambrosia Sky you play as Dalia, a Scarab-class field scientist working deep in space. Tasked publicly with uncovering the secrets of human longevity, she spends much of her time clearing invasive alien fungi and tending to the remains of those who couldn’t escape. The core gameplay blends soothing, methodical cleaning with moments of haunting reflection — imagine PowerWash Simulator set against a sci-fi backdrop where you also help lay the departed to rest.

That contrast — quiet, caring gameplay punctuated by emotional weight and confronting Dalia’s past — may help Act One stand out during a packed release window.

If you want to try the experience ahead of the November release, a demo for Windows PC is currently available on Steam.
